The second market day
The weather cooperated, what a gorgeous day! All the vendors showed and we added one, Goulds Produce from Broadheadsville, PA. They had some great looking strawberries today. Did you get a chance to check out Janice at the Graver Farmstead tent? Last week, she gave out a recipe for strawberry dressing….soooo yummy! I made it the very next day with the berries I bought from Double Y Farm. Even my honey, Sean, liked it! This week Janice had a recipe for Banana Poppy Seed dressing. Sounds a little different but it smelled wonderful! I can’t wait to try it!
Most of the produce vendors sold out in the first couple of hours…so you have to get there early. Sue Kiddek, the gardening expert for the Morning Call, was on-site to show us how to plant a strawberry pot with herbs. This is a great way to add a small herb garden to your yard. There is nothing like cooking with fresh herbs and it is soo satisfying to have grown them yourself!
I hope you can join us. We are enjoying the market, the vendors, and are looking forward to more produce, more events and to getting “Fresh on Friday.”
